WATERVILLE – The Thomas College Terriers benefited from a wild finish for a 19-17 win Wednesday to salvage a split in a college baseball doubleheader with Fisher College.
The Falcons from Boston took the opener 9-8.
In the second game, the clash ended when Fisher had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the seventh. The runner on third thought a pitch was ball four and headed for home. But it was only ball two, and he was picked off to end the game.
Scott Sibley sparked Thomas with a solo homer and an RBI single. Buzz Simpson belted a two-run homer to go with an RBI single. Ryan O’Conner drove in four runs off a two-run single and two-run double. Josh Porter ripped a double and a triple.
In the first game, Victor Molina paced Fisher with a two-run homer. Miguel Medina also belted a two-run blast, to go with a double and a single.
For the Terriers, Aaron Bonenfant pounded out three singles with an RBI. Travis Hotham cracked a double and drove in a trio of runs, and Scott Brown had two singles and knocked in a run.

At Farmington, Phil Geiger knocked in four runs with two singles and Tom Wilson doubled twice with three RBIs to pace the White Mules past the Beavers.
Kevin Brunelle doubled twice with two RBIs for Colby of Waterville, which broke the game open with eight runs in the seventh.
Kris Garrow led UMaine-Farmington with a double, a single, and two RBIs. Keith LeBlanc singled twice.

Saint Joseph’s sweeps Husson
At Husson College in Bangor, Kristen Gaudette and Sarah Webster each turned in solid pitching performances to help Saint Joseph’s of Standish sweep Husson 5-1 and 4-3 in Maine Athletic Conference play.
The Monks rallied for five runs in the top of the eighth in the first game as Courtney Sirois, Sue Picard, and Helene Liaci each singled.
Missy Michaud hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning for Husson.
Kelly Premo paced Saint Joseph’s in the second game with three doubles while Picard and Kahler Dowling each singled twice.
Nicole Duplisea doubled, singled, and drove in a run for Husson.

Thomas sweeps UM-Farmington
At Farmington, Devon Burnell earned two victories to help Thomas sweep the University of Maine-Farmington 8-2 and 4-3.
Kati Morrell notched a two-run single for Thomas of Waterville in the first game while Courtney Korbett tripled in the second game.
Richelle Dube had three hits for UMF in the second game.
