HARTFORD, Conn. – Some of the nation’s best small-college tennis players will converge on Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., this weekend for the New England Small College Athletic Conference championship. The championships run from Friday through Sunday.

Williams College, the defending NCAA Division III champion, will put its nine-year NESCAC streak on the line against a field that includes five of the top 25 teams in the region.

Williams is ranked No. 1 in the nation, while Bowdoin of Brunswick, Maine is second in the East region according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Bates College of Lewiston (eighth) and Colby College of Waterville are also ranked among the top 20 in the region.
