WATERVILLE – Scott Brawn jolted a two-run home run to spark a four-run fourth-inning rally Thursday as Thomas College posted a 5-2 Maine Athletic Conference baseball victory over the University of Maine-Farmington.
Ryan O’Connor capped off the burst with a two-run single for Thomas. Travis Hotham belted a solo homer in the first. Scott Sibley added a single.
Tom Ventura rapped a double and Keith LeBlanc notched a pair of singles for the Beavers.

At Standish, Darren Meader delivered the winning run with a fielder’s choice in the 10th inning, lifting Southern Maine of Gorham to victory over Saint Joseph’s.
Christian Boileau pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Huskies. Adam Lemieux paced USM with a home run and three singles. Tyler Delorme provided a double and a single.
Jim Becvar doubled and singled for the Monks, while Howard Rutherford and Derek McIntosh chipped in with two singles each.

Colby sweeps Bates
At Waterville, the White Mules got solid pitching performances in sweeping a doubleheader from in-state rival Bates, 4-1 in the first game and 1-0 in the second.
In the first game, Annette Caswell went the distance, scattering five hits, giving up the one run, striking out five and walking four. Kate Hurd doubled and singled for Colby.
Brooke Tardiff doubled for Bates of Lewiston.
In the second game, Toni-Lynn Robbins got the shutout win, going seven innings, allowing just three hits, walking only one and striking out three. Shannon Emerson singled twice for the White Mules.
Lindsay Maycock and Sarah Levine doubled for the Bobcats. Cami Dyson scattered seven hits in taking the loss.
