WISCASSET – Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset rebounded from being a lap down, took the lead with three laps left, and held on for the win Saturday afternoon in the DNK Select Used Cars Pro Stock 100 at Wiscasset Raceway.

Chubbuck held off Peter Oakes of Boothbay, who finished second. Hallowell’s Johnny Clark wound up in third place, Scott Delano of Friendship was fourth and Bar Harbor’s John Phippen came in fifth.

Weather shuts down Oxford

At Oxford Plains Speedway, racing was cancelled Sunday due to rain and snow. The next event at Oxford will be Fan Appreciation Night May 4 at 7 p.m., which also starts the Saturday night racing format.

Adult tickets are $5. Kids are free.

Unity races postponed

At Unity Raceway, cold, rain and snow forced the track to postpone its opener to next Sunday at 2 p.m.

The highlight of the six-division program will be a 102-lap main event for the premier division, the PTM Kick Butts Racing in pro stocks. The winner gets $3,000.

Unity will also begin weekly Thursday night practice sessions at 4 p.m. and the grandstand will be open to the public.
