AUGUSTA – The board of Central Maine Power Co. has declared regular quarterly dividends on the utility’s preferred stock.

The dividends are payable July 1, 2002, to holders of record at the close of business June 13, 2002.

The regular preferred dividends are 87.5 cents per share on the 3.50 percent series, $1.15 on the 4.60 percent series, $1.1875 on the 4.75 percent series, $1.3125 on the 5.25 percent series, and $1.50 on the 6 percent series.

Central Maine Power (www.cmpco.com) operates more than 20,000 miles of power lines and other facilities that deliver electricity to 80 percent of Maine’s population.

CMP is a subsidiary of Energy East Corp., an energy services and delivery company serving electric and gas customers in New York and New England.
