MILO – Penquis freshman Dani Graves posted her first high school win, holding previously undefeated Stearns of Millinocket at bay for a 7-5 victory Saturday in high school softball action.

Graves scattered six hits and fanned 13 in the win. Arielle Sickler smacked a two-run single to pace the Patriots’ while Mindy Dyer added two singles and scored twice.

Leslie Osborne and Becca Saucier stroked two singles apiece for the Minutemen.

At Greenville, Jessie Craft led the Lakers with two singles and a home run.

Nicole Barto was Richmond’s top hitter with two singles.

Caribou sweeps Foxcroft

At Caribou, the Vikings won the first game 24-12 and the second 19-13 to sweep the Ponies in a doubleheader.

In the first game, Amy Espling had five RBIs with a single and a double to help lead the Vikings to the win. Melissa Brissette hit two doubles for three RBIs while Jessica Cyr added two RBIs on a double and a single and Jessica Hartley helped out with two singles.

Randi Kenny hit a three-run homer and two singles for Foxcroft Academy while Mandy Murray contributed with a triple and singles for an RBI.

In the second game, Michelle Snell and Molly Bell each nailed a three-run homer for the Vikings. Brissette contributed with a two-run homer and a single while Amy Bouchard had two RBIs on a triple and single.

Casey Snow had two RBIs with a home run, a triple and two singles for the Ponies and Harmony Sands and Ashley Marden each hit two-run singles.

At Ellsworth, Jodie Merchant powered the Eagles with two triples and an RBI single.

Sarah Silsby contributed with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Mallory Patten scattered three hits in the win.

Tanya Kane tripled, singled and drove in a run for MDI and Bracey Barker added an RBI single.

At East Sullivan, Meghan Ruhlin scattered six hits and contributed two singles of her own to help lead Sumner to victory.

Monica Stanley and Jenay Tucker each had two singles for the Tigers.

Kristie Albee, Annie Day and and Meghan Guptill each singled for Washington Academy.

Old Town sweeps Presque Isle

At Presque Isle, a fielding error on a ball hit by Emelie Richard in the top of the 10th plated three runs to lift the Indians to an 8-6 victory in the second game of a doubleheader against the Wildcats. Old Town won the opener 12-0.

In the first game, Sarah Metivier threw a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk. Meghan King doubled and drove in four runs. Richard hit four singles and Megan Swandal singled twice and had four RBIs. Michelle Post hit a single for Presque Isle.

In the second game, Richard got to second on the error, allowing Erin Sherman, Jill Ouellette and King to score runs. Richard also singled and Renee Thibodeau added two RBIs on a double and a single.

Ashley Putnam led the Wildcats with a double, a single and two RBIs. Marigan Bishop singled twice and drove in a run, and Sarah Belden hit an RBI double.

At Bangor, the Rams took advantage of 15 Orono errors to cruise to the win.

Bangor scored 14 runs in the third inning behind run scoring doubles by Meghan Chase and Stephanie Chase. Jen Jimmo had two singles and an RBI for the Rams.

Chelsea Sherman led the Red Riots with a double, two singles and a run batted in.

At Husson College in Bangor, Sherri Capponi earned the pitching win and provided much of the offense with a double, two singles and four RBIs.

Carolyn McAvoy singled twice and knocked in a run for the Witches.

Amelia Mitchell-Storer rapped two singles and drove in three for the Crusaders of Bangor. Kim Meagher added two singles.

At Limestone, Nikki Michaud drove in Ashley Brooker for the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.

Brooker hit two singles for two RBIs while Michaud also had a two-run double. Jacinda St. Pierre contributed three singles for two RBIs.
