DIXMONT – A 16-year-old boy who drove an SUV at his sibling to try to scare him during a dispute Monday hit the family home instead and was charged with criminal threatening.

No one was injured in the incident at 41 Masonic Road at about 4:30 p.m., although both the vehicle and home were damaged.

The 16-year-old, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, planned to scare his brother by driving at him in a Chevrolet Blazer and stopping short by putting the vehicle in reverse, said Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputy James Kennedy. The teen-ager wasn’t able to put the vehicle into reverse in time and although the brother got out of the way, the SUV hit the house.

Damage to the front and driver’s side of the Blazer was estimated at $1,200. Kennedy didn’t have an estimate on the damage to the home, but said a window flower box was damaged and the front window may have been pushed in a little.

Kennedy said that the teen-ager drove off after the incident, but was located on the Churchill Road.
