ELLSWORTH – A local woman injured in an accident in Florida that killed an Ellsworth husband and wife earlier this month remains in the hospital, but her condition has improved, according to a hospital official.
Michelle Tetrault, 25, is in serious condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., a hospital spokesperson said Monday.
Tetrault was listed in critical condition at the hospital in the days immediately after the van she was riding in flipped two weeks ago on Interstate 75 north of Tampa.
The April 16 accident killed Everett and Marguerite “Peggy” Dorr, both 56 years old. Tetrault was vacationing with the Dorrs, their son Everett Dorr Jr., and four other relatives and friends of the Dorrs when the van they were riding in went off the highway. Tetrault is dating Everett Dorr Jr., according to family and friends.
The other passengers were all treated and then released from hospitals in the Tampa area in the two days immediately after the accident, according to hospital officials.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Everett Dorr was driving the van north when it drifted slightly off the left side of the highway and veered back across the road and off the right shoulder.
