EAST MILLINOCKET – Brooke Austin’s slow roller to first in the eighth inning scored Tiana Stanley and gave Schenck a 6-5 high school softball win over Mattanawcook Academy Tuesday.

Stanley and Jennifer Grant singled to open the eighth and moved up on a passed ball.

Jessica Day had four singles and scored three runs for Schenck. Beth Chasse had three singles and two RBIs and Heather Duprey also singled three times.

Kasse Brown and Chelsey Nicastro had two base hits each for the Lynx of Lincoln. Lyndsey Shorey and Chelsey Nicastro had back-to-back RBI doubles in the four-run seventh inning.

At Newport, Amiee Paradis nailed a three-run homer and Kaycea Grignon hit a three-run single to help carry the Warriors to the win.

Michelle Murray had two RBIs on two singles and a triple while Danielle Clark contributed a single and a triple for two RBIs.

Emily Reed had two RBIs on a single and a double for the Red Riots.

At Dexter, righthander Karen Nelson fired a two-hitter, striking out 11 and walking two, and Ashley Foster’s two-run double keyed a five-run second inning that carried Dexter to the win.

Foster had a pair of doubles in the game, Brittany Veazie had three singles, and Amanda Pullen contributed two singles.

Kara Hartman and Danielle Miller had singles for Bangor Christian.

At Bangor, Meghan Swandal hit a two-run double and Erin Sherman had a two-run single to help lead Old Town.

Meghan King had a double and a single for the Indians while Renee Thibodeau and Emelie Richard each added two singles.

Jen Jimmo led Bangor with a double and a single for two RBIs, while Megan Huckins hit two singles. Courtney Smith helped out with two doubles for the Rams.

At the Husson College field in Bangor, Nikki Novak and Amelia Mitchell-Storer each singled twice and drove in three runs as the Crusaders outslugged the Ponies.

Rebecca Stevens hit three singles and added an RBI for John Bapst. Alex Waring doubled and singled.

Amanda Murray hit two singles and had two RBIs for Foxcroft. Leigh Cartwright contributed three singles, and Casey Snow doubled, singled, and drove in a run.

At Howland, Penobscot Valley strung together five singles in a three-run sixth-inning rally that gave the Howlers some breathing room.

Kylie McGinn had three singles for PVHS, Sharon Drost and Meagan Cyr each singled twice, and Casey Foster doubled.

Greta Korsman doubled and singled twice for Piscataquis of Guilford. Stephanie Wentworth and Ivy Galuski singled twice.

At Blue Hill, Nicole Shute’s two-run triple, Lura Carroll’s RBI double, and Lindsey Seekins’ run-scoring single supplied Searsport with their runs in the fifth inning and Tara Lee Webster scattered four hits as Searsport triumphed.

Webster fanned three and walked two.

Singles by Nickie Boutin, Sarah Clapp, and Rachael Wardwell and Nikki Keniston’s RBI groundout produced the GSA run in the sixth, but Webster induced a popup and got a strikeout to end the threat.

Jessie Conley pitched well in defeat, also fashioning a four-hitter with three strikeouts and two walks. All four runs were unearned.

At Hampden, much of the scoring came early as Brewer’s Jon Bell hit a three-run homer in the first and Joe Griffin added a three-run homer in the second.

The Witches benefited from 10 walks and four hit batsmen and Bell finished with five RBIs.

Ben Quimby led off with a home run for Hampden and Matt Paine added a grand slam in the first. Eric Libby singled twice.

At Bangor, Billy Chapman pitched a one-run, three-hit game, striking out seven and walking only two to lead John Bapst past Foxcroft Academy.

Zach Means posted a double and a single for two RBIs, and Pat Healy had three singles. James Strout and Bryan Snyder each chipped in with two singles and an RBI.

Seth Gabarro, Hunter Wilbur, and Caleb Pelletier hit a single apiece for the Ponies.

At Lee, Jason Mallett’s two-run double in the fifth inning broke open a close game as the Pandas downed the Cougars.

Mallett also had a single and finished the game with three RBIs. Bruce Stevens had three singles and drove in two runs, Jeremy Ham had a pair of singles and two RBIs, and Frank Severance singled twice for Lee Academy. Four Lee pitchers combined to limit the Cougars to two hits.

Justin Stevens and Chris McNally singled for Katahdin of Sherman Station.

Luellen struck out six and walked three. Ben Stearns’ two-run double keyed a nine-run fifth inning for Piscataquis of Guilford. Stearns added a second double. Ben Smith had a pair of singles and two RBIs.

Cody Thompson’s single was Penobscot Valley’s lone hit.

At Dexter, Jason Clukey nailed a three-run homer and Erik Cody hit a three-run single to help carry the Tigers past the Patriots.

Chare Ossinger led Bangor Christian with a two-run single while D.J. McCleary and Aaron Wilson chipped in with a single apiece.
