Beloved comedy on tap at PTC

BANGOR – Penobscot Theatre Company will continue its 2002 season with Neil Simon’s comedy, “The Odd Couple.” It runs May 8-19 at the Bangor Opera House, 131 Main St. Half-price performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. May 8-9.

Opening night is 8 p.m. Friday, May 10. The theater also offers a pay-what-you-wish performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7. Other shows are scheduled for 5 p.m. May 11; 2 p.m. May 12; 7 p.m. May 16; 8 p.m. May 17-18, and 2 p.m. May 19.

The creative team for “The Odd Couple” includes New York-based director Chris Dolman, costume designer and Bangor-area resident Gabriella D’Italia, lighting designer Lynne Chase, and set designer Chez Cherry.

Boston-area resident Mark Cartier, who plays Felix Ungar, has appeared in PTC productions of “The Mystery of Irma Vep” and “The Turn of the Screw.”

James Pyduck of Philadelphia, who has had a recurring role on “Law and Order,” will play Oscar.

Michael Weinstein (Murray) of Orono has appeared in “Sunday in the Park with George, “A Christmas Carol,” “Inspecting Carol,” “Our Town” and “Harvey.”

Rich Kimball (Roy), assistant principal at Brewer Middle School, recently appeared in Penobscot Theatre’s production of “Tartuffe.”

Ron Lisnet (Speed) has had roles in “The School for Wives,” “A Flea in Her Ear,” “Amadeus” and “Glengarry Glen Ross.”

Kent McKusick (Vinnie) played Cleante in “Tartuffe.” He also was in “The Nerd,” “Macbeth” and “A Christmas Carol.” McKusick is the founder and artistic director of Northern Lights Theatre, and appeared in its productions of “Mass Appeal,” “A Tuna Christmas” and “Greater Tuna.”
