BREWER – Nationally known recording artists Dave Mallett and Dan Seals will be the featured performers as the Brewer Middle School wraps up its 75th anniversary celebration this month.
Maine native Mallett, considered one of folk’s finest singer-songwriters, has recorded 11 albums, including the recent “Ambition,” on Rounder/Flying Fish Records. His songs have been recorded by Emmylou Harris, Alison Kraus, Peter, Paul & Mary, John Denver, and Pete Seeger, to name just a few.
Mallett will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Brewer Middle School, with tickets priced at $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
Texan Dan Seals has been making hits for more than 25 years. As half of the duo England Dan and John Ford Coley, he notched six Top 40 and four Top Ten hits including the million-seller “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight,” as well as “Nights Are Forever” and “Love is the Answer.”
In the 1980s, Seals turned his attention to his first love, country music, and became one of the most successful solo artists ever. His duet with Marie Osmond, “Meet Me in Montana,” won CMA’s Single of the Year Award in 1986. Seals’ concert will be at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Tickets are $17 for reserved seats, $15 for general admission.
Tickets are available at the Grasshopper Shop in downtown Bangor, and at Brewer Middle School, 5 Somerset St. For information, call 989-8640.
