BANGOR – St. Joseph Healthcare honored its volunteers at a Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on April 24.
The event recognized 60 volunteers for generously giving their time to help staff, patients and visitors. Their combined service for the year 2001 totaled more than 21,740 hours, with a cost savings to the organization of nearly $349,000, based on the hourly value set by the Points of Light Foundation.
Volunteers were awarded pins and certificates for lifetime hours of service. Roses were presented for years of service.
Gloria Cyr was honored for 40 years; Connie Kelsey for 25 years; Thomas Healy and Milly Ranney for 20-24 years; Marjorie Craig, Christine DiPompo, Phyllis Smith, and Clara Swan for 15-19 years; Marie Cameron, Anne Fecteau, and Charles Rich for 10-14 years; Irene Downes, James Finnigan, Rosemary Ford, Mary Glans, Charlene Kennedy, Kathryn LePage, Ellen Pelletier, Jason Picard, Minerva Proctor, Marianne Ruhrold, and Jeannette Treworgy for five to nine years.
Anne Fecteau was honored for providing 13,500 cumulative hours of volunteer service to St. Joseph Healthcare; Milly Ranney, 5,500-5,999; Marie Cameron, 5,000-5,499; Christine DiPompo, 4,000-4,499; Gloria Cyr, Charles Rich and Clara Swan, 3,500-3,999; Jason Picard, 3,000-3,499; Mary Glans, Thomas Healy and Kathryn LePage, 2,000-2,499; Connie Kelsey, Patrick McDonough, Minerva Proctor, Marianne Ruhrold, Phyllis Smith, Stephen Stout, Jeannette Treworgy and Kristin Weeks, 1,500-1,999; Laura Copp, Deborah Cox, Helen Dentici, Rosemary Ford and Marjorie Robinson, 1,000-1,499; Timothy Arbuckle, Albert Ayotte, Marjorie Craig, Susan Everett, James Finnigan, Charlene Kennedy, Judith Kimball, Debra Lord-Daigle, May Pardy, Ellen Pelletier, Albert Ross and Kay Wasson, 500-999; and several for up to 500 hours.
