JEFFERSON – Authorities have identified the victim of Sunday’s fatal automobile accident.

Dana Boynton, 25, of Jefferson died in the Route 215 crash, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department said.

The preliminary investigation indicates Boynton’s pickup truck crossed into the opposite lane, crashed into a tree, spun around in the roadway and caught fire at 1:40 a.m.
