Outlook: The Bears make a rare trip to play a game on the home field of an instate opponent. UMaine last played at Coombs Field in 1991. The facility was completely renovated last fall. UMaine would like nothing better than to pile up some runs, which have come more sparingly in recent America East play. The Mules, who did not qualify for the NESCAC playoffs, are playing their final game after a disappointing season. Colby will lose five seniors to graduation. Today’s game is the last non-conference contest of the season for the Bears, who may be able to clinch a playoff berth in their weekend series against Stony Brook.
