Tiki time

For those of you who have tried to beg, borrow or steal a tiki glass (or a rum bowl) from your favorite Chinese restaurant, this will make an honest sipper out of you. You now can buy your own stoneware tiki glass, which comes complete with rum-drink recipes, a bunch of paper umbrellas and a wrist lei, for $10.95 at the Grasshopper Shop in Bangor. So you can kick back and sip on a Lapu-Lapu in your own living room – and not have to worry about getting frisked by an angry restaurateur on your way out.

Coco-loco

If the tiki drinks aren’t summery enough, this candle, which looks like a fruity drink in a coconut shell, should do the trick. It costs $6.50 at the Grasshopper Shop, and that includes a detachable wax fruit spear, because presentation is everything.

Skirting the issue

Picnics and barbecues are great, but they’re no fun if the ants go marching two by two into your potato salad. A collapsible food tent in the shape of a hula dancer will keep your food safe in style. It costs $7.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond.
