EDINBURG – A 17-year-old girl was killed and her 18-year-old passenger severely injured after they were ejected from a van that rolled over on Interstate 95 Wednesday afternoon.

Patricia Corbin of Carroll Plantation died at the scene, while her passenger, George Stevens, 18, of Princeton was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to a Lewiston hospital, where a state police official said he was being treated for a spinal injury.

Corbin became distracted while driving northbound on I-95 in Edinburg at about 5:30 p.m. and lost control of the 1996 Plymouth van after overcorrecting, according to police. The van went off the interstate, rolling over at least three times, according to authorities.
