Should Bangor’s police and fire calls be handled by Penobscot regional dispatch to save costs?

I’ve always thought it was better for communities to do as much as they can for themselves.

Anne Mundy, Bangor

Both sides have valid points. They save a chunk of change, but they lose the personal touch.

Josh Bears, Orono

It’s great that it would save the money, but what effect would it have on communication?

Mandy Lancaster, Bangor

I think it should be local. I was from the Hampden Fire Department. I know the people from Bangor handle the calls a lot better.

Jason London, Hampden

If it saves money and is effective as the local one, then it would be a good idea.

Debbie Kimball, Bangor

No. I think the local dispatch works better.

Michael Hare, Bangor

My theory is that if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Brenda Drake, Bangor

No way. I think the quality and service there is right now is what we should expect.

Ben Desmond, Bangor
