If you have any combination of these symptoms, call for help immediately. “Don’t die of embarrassment,” said Heather Quintana of the American Heart Association in Portland. “Not all of these symptoms need to occur at the same time. Very often there are warning signs and people don’t recognize them.”

. Pain spreading to the shoulders, arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach
. Shortness of breath
. Sweating
. Fatigue
. Feeling “sick to your stomach”
. Feeling faint
. Feeling dizzy
