MILO – The Mattanawcook Academy Lynx of Lincoln scored four runs in the first inning and made their lead stand up in a 9-5 softball win over Penquis Monday.
Jill Murchison tripled and singled, Kasse Brown had two singles and Lyndsey Shorey singled and drove in a run for Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln.
Jean Hamlin tripled, singled twice had had an RBI while Michelle Mulherin and Mindy Dyer had two singles apiece for Penquis.

At Houlton, Aimee Guy’s bases-loaded single with two outs in the sixth inning scored the tying and winning runs for the Shiretowners.

Ashley Desjardins tripled and singled while Ashley Pelletier had two singles for the Warriors.

Hodgdon sweeps doubleheader
At Hodgdon, Shanna McGary pitched both ends of a doubleheader and allowed 12 total hits to help the Hawks sweep a doubleheader with an 18-13 victory over Ashland in the first game and a 9-2 win over Washburn in the second.
