NEWPORT – Seth Gabarro singled twice and tripled for three RBIs to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies past Nokomis 14-7 in a high school baseball game Monday.
Josh Withee and Jason Weymouth each singled twice. Brandon Croan hit a two-run double for the Ponies.
Mike Jacques hit three singles, Justin Nichols singled twice for two RBIs, and Brannen Guy hit a two-run single for the Warriors.

At Belfast, Devin Potvin’s two-out double scored Matt Welch with the winning run in the fifth as the host Lions notched their fourth straight victory in a game shortened to six innings by rain.
Ben Cowan tossed a six-hitter for Belfast. Jesse Johnson hit a two-run homer in the fourth and singled. Potvin had a double and a single.
Ricky Vigue led off the game with a home run and singled twice for the Black Raiders. Chris Langlais singled twice.

Brody Artes tripled, singled, and knocked in a run for the Howlers, while Miller also had a two-run single in the third. Cody Thompson spun a four-hitter, striking out nine and walking only one.
Dan Frost lashed two doubles and drove in a run for Stearns of Millinocket.

At the Husson College field in Bangor, Billy Chapman scored the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh when Bryan Snyder’s slow roller to shortstop was mishandled.
Chapman singled to open the inning, was sacrificed to second, and moved to third on a flyout.
Chapman finished with two singles, and Andy Tremble had one. Chapman was also the Crusaders’ winning pitcher, giving up three hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Mount Desert Island had tied the game in the top of the seventh when Brad Dalton doubled, moved to third on a flyout, and scored on Brandon Colbeth’s sacrifice fly.
B.J. Greenleaf and Colbeth accounted for the Trojans’ other two hits. Travis Tripp also tossed a three-hitter, striking out five and not walking anyone. Both Bapst runs were unearned.

At East Machias, back-to-back home runs in the second inning by James Ramsdell (two RBIs) and Steven Colbeth highlighted a three-homer attack by the Raiders.
Barret Craven cracked a two-run homer in the fifth. Ramsdell also had an RBI double, winning pitcher Colbeth rapped two doubles, and Craven added a single.
Kyle Joy and Blake Alley posted RBI singles for the Tigers of East Sullivan.
