DENVER – Former Maine Black Bears wide receiver Phil McGeoghan probably will miss the 2002 NFL season after injuring his left shoulder playing for the Berlin Thunder.

McGeoghan played football at UMaine during the 1998-2000 seasons.

McGeoghan, who played in two games with Denver last season as a rookie, underwent surgery Monday. He was injured during an NFL Europe game Friday night. He caught 15 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns in four games with the Thunder.
