DEXTER – Adam Russell hit two singles, drove in a run, scored four runs and stole six bases to help the Dexter Tigers edge the Piscataquis Community Pirates 11-9 in schoolboy baseball action Wednesday.

Jason Clukey laced a pair of doubles for the winners. Joe Kinney had a double, single and knocked in a run. Chris Rabideau had eight strikeouts in six innings of relief.

Josh Luellen smacked two doubles for Piscataquis Community High of Guilford. Ben Smith had two singles and knocked in three runs. John Luellen had two singles, and Buddy Bates had a pair of singles and scored three runs.

At Kenduskeag, Josh Bolton slammed three homers, two three-run shots and a two-run blast to propel the Mariners past the Knights of Charleston.

The teams combined for 10 homers in the contest.

Ethan Haskell jolted a two-run homer to go with a two-run double, RBI triple and RBI single (6 RBIs) for the winners. Bennett Gray roped a two-run homer of his own, going along with a pair of doubles, a triple and a single. Jeff Douglas contributed a single and a double.

Devan Philbrick cranked a grand slam for Highview Christian. Nick Waite added a three-run shot, and John Andrews cracked a two-run blast.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Brandon Colbeth slammed a two-run homer and B.J. Greenleaf led off the game with a solo shot as the Trojans held off the Ponies.

Brian Greenleaf roped two doubles, a single and drove in three for the winners. Brad Dalton and Travis Tripp had two singles each.

Josh Withee led Foxcroft with a double and a single. He narrowly missed a game-tying grand slam in the seventh, with a long out to center. Brandon Croan had two singles.

At East Sullivan, Dustin Young fired a four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking only one as the Tigers upset Searsport.

Blake Alley sparked the winners with a double, single, an RBI and a run scored. Young also contributed two singles. Andy Allen had an RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly.

Spencer Gaston jolted a two-run homer in the first and rapped an RBI single in the third for the Vikings.

At Rockland, the Black Bears of Readfield scored all six of their runs in the final two innings to tame the Tigers.

Ben Muniz cracked a two-run double during a five-run ninth for the winners. Mike Buckley spun a one-hitter, striking out seven and walking five.

Jake LaBree singled for Rockland’s lone hit.

At Lee, Jeremy Ham pitched a one-hitter and helped his own cause with a triple, a double, a single and an RBI as the Pandas shut out the Dragons in a game shortened by the 10-run rule.

Ham struck out nine and walked two, allowing only a swinging-bunt infield single to Chad Pike with two out in the fourth inning. Zac Currie (triple, single) and Frank Severance (double, single) each plated two runs for Lee Academy.

At Dexter, hard-throwing righthander Caterina Riitano threw a no-hitter, striking out 13 and walking four, to enable Piscataquis Community High of Guilford to avenge an earlier 5-1 home loss.

Stephanie Wentworth’s run-scoring triple and Greta Korsmann’s RBI single supplied Riitano with the only runs she was to need in the first inning.

Karole-Anne Emery had three singles and two RBIs to pace PCHS’s 11-hit attack. Ivy Galuski had two singles and an RBI; Pam Bailey and Wentworth had triples and Riitano contributed an RBI double.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Leigh Cartwright laced a triple and a double as the Ponies grabbed their first win.

Mandi Murray had two singles and drove in two runs for Foxcroft.

Alicia Boisvert and Jessica Norwood each had three singles for the Trojans.

At Damariscotta, Morgan Crandall spun a two-hitter, allowing no earned runs, fanning 14 and walking four as the Lions roared to the win.

Kate Ross sparked the offense with a double, single and two RBIs for Belfast. Sara Flagg and Melissa Gray roped two singles apiece.

Megan Oliver stroked a double for the Eagles of Newcastle. Lindsey Sterling had a single.

At Lee, Shelby Pickering slammed two doubles, singled and drove in six runs to power Lee to victory.

Deidra Ham chipped in with two singles, two doubles and an RBI and Brittany Mallett had three singles and three RBIs. Desirae MacDonald doubled and singled while Katie Harris and Ashley Linscott each added three singles.

Katie Smith singled and drove in three runs for Woodland and Julia Knights singled twice.

At Bangor, Danielle Miller’s single in the bottom of the sixth drove in Kayla Sherman with the winning run.

Sherman and Annie Babineau drew back-to-back walks and then pulled off a double steal to set up the winning run.

Miller also had an RBI single in the fourth to back winning pitcher Kara Hartman who scattered eight hits while striking out 10 and walking one.

Roz Santospago doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Deer Isle-Stonington and Jen Hagerthy added a two-run single.

At East Sullivan, the Vikes’ Tara Lee Webster outdueled Sumner’s Meghan Ruhlin as Searsport improved to 10-1.

Webster fired a one-hitter and contributed a sacrifice bunt in the sixth. Nicole Corbin doubled prior to the bunt, then scored on a throwing error for the winning run. Lindsey Seekins and Mo Hall had a single each for the winners.

Ruhlin spun a three-hitter for the Tigers. Rachel Philio laced an RBI double, and Ruhlin put down two sacrifice bunts and drove in a pair of runs.
