John Bapst Memorial High School
BANGOR – Interim Head Allen C. Adriance has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2002. Commencement will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at John Bapst Memorial High School.
Kathryn A. Ostrofsky, daughter of William and Andrea Ostrofsky of Veazie, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2002. She will attend Bowdoin College and will study political science and legal studies.
She is a National Merit Scholar, former senator at Dirigo Girls’ State, and recipient of the Maine Scholars Achievement Award, Princeton Book Award, DAR Good Citizen’s Award, MMEA Outstanding Musicianship Award (Jazz), and the Girl Scouts Gold Award. She has participated in spring musicals and performed in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Honors Band, Chamber Ensemble, and All State Band. Ostrofsky has been a member of the National Honor Society, math team, and varsity tennis team.
Robert J. Weber, son of James and Janet Weber of East Holden, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2002. He will attend the University of Maine and will study biological engineering.
He is a National Merit Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, and recipient of the Maine Scholars Achievement Award and Holy Cross Book Award. He has lettered in cross country, football, and spring track.
