HODGDON – Ryan Schools’ bunt single in the top of the sixth scored Justin Henderson and gave the Houlton Shiretowners a 3-1 schoolboy baseball victory over the Hodgdon Hawks Monday.
Henderson had singled and went to third when John Weston reached on an outfield error. Weston later scored on a Jordan Hill single.
Eric O’Connell chipped in with two singles and an RBI to back winning pitcher Schools who allowed four hits in six innings while striking out five.
Hard-luck losing pitcher Chris Blanchette scattered six hits and struck out seven.

At Jonesport, Billy Merchant no-hit the Knights, striking out four and walking two, and also hit a double and a single with an RBI to lead the Royals.
Alvin Beal racked up six RBIs on two singles for Jonesport-Beals. Jared Alley drove in five runs on a double and two singles. Matt Bryant hit a two-run single, while Abraham Beal and Ben Durkee hit each hit an RBI single.
Saben Rossi scored Narraguagus of Harrington’s only run. He got aboard on an error in the fourth.

At Presque Isle due to rain in Caribou, the Trojans trailed 2-1 before scoring eight times in the top of the seventh inning to beat the Vikings.
MDI’s eight runs in the seventh came on nine hits. Five of their runs came after two were out. Travis trip had a pair of doubles in the seventh inning while Brandon Colbeth doubled and singled in that inning. Brian Greenleaf and John Dow picked up a pair of singles apiece for MDI.
Andrew Bouchard had two singles for Caribou.

At St. Agatha, Brandon Millett scored the game-winner on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth as the Hornets earned their first win.
Millett led off the inning by reaching on an error, then stole both second and third, and eventually scampered home on a wild pitch.
Eric Ham doubled and singled for the winners. Matt Carney and Allan O’Clair had two singles each.
Aaron Gervais slammed a three-run homer and a single for the Pioneers. Brad Thibeault singled and roped a solo shot.

Kyle Larrabee led Central Aroostook with a two-run home run and Jason Woodworth had three singles.

Schenck’s Drew Fayle forced extra innings with a two-out RBI single in the seventh. Jeff Osborne doubled, singled and added two RBIs. Adam Dempsey singled and drove in two runs.
Travis Robinson, Chris McNally and Chris Willigar each singled twice for the Cougars of Sherman Station.

At Fort Kent, the Eagles scored nine runs in the second inning when Warriors pitchers combined to walk 11 batters while allowing just one hit.
Steve Hardwick had a double and a single to lead Limestone.
Nick Thibodeau had a double and three singles and Travis Duval singled three times for Fort Kent. The Warriors left 14 runners on base.

At Washburn, Jason Thompson and Dan Buckley combined on a one-hitter, with five strikeouts apiece in the five-inning game, as the Beavers won the second game of a doubleheader 15-4. Washburn topped Highview Christian 6-4 in the first game.
In the first game, Buckley doubled and hit a solo homer. Isaac Carney fanned 14 and scattered seven hits in the win. John Andrews led the Knights of Charleston with a two-run single in the first. He also pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts. David Day doubled and added two singles, and Nick Waite singled twice.
In the second game, Buckley hit his second homer of the day, tripled, singled and finished with six RBIs. Trevor Thibodeau and Thompson each hit an RBI single. Day singled for Highview Christian and Andrews had an RBI. Three Knights pitchers combined for nine strikeouts.

Anna Lenentine had an RBI single later in the eighth.
Claire Thompson and Valerie Lenentine had two singles apiece for Houlton and winning pitcher Aimee Guy worked her way out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the seventh.
Erin Foster had two singles and two RBIs for Hodgdon and Alicia Dwyer doubled. Hodgdon’s Shanna McGary allowed just one earned run.

Melissa Morneault sparked Fort Kent to its 10th win with a two-run double. Ashley Desjardins doubled, singled and drove in a run. Iris Guimond and Danielle Pinette each hit an RBI single.
Ashley Brooker singled for the only hit for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics. All three runs were scored on passed balls.

Michaud hit a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth, part of a four-run rally that helped tie the game for Limestone. She also doubled and finished with four RBIs. Posey hit three singles and Lindsey Beaulieu added two singles. Ashley Brooker racked up three singles and two RBIs.
Nicole Corbin led Van Buren with two doubles and two singles. Natalie Cormier singled twice and drove in two runs.

At Searsport, TaraLee Webster fired a one-hitter and also starred at the plate as the Viking edged the Patriots.
Webster struck nine and walked one and singled in a run and later came around to score on a Patriots error in the Vikings’ three-run third inning. Webster singled twice in the game for Searsport.
