Veteran probate judge seeks eleventh term

BANGOR – Penobscot County Judge of Probate Allan Woodcock Jr. of Bangor is seeking the Republican nomination for an 11th four-year term. A probate judge handles estates, wills, guardianships, conservatorships, adoptions, changes of name and related matters.

Woodcock is the state’s senior probate judge.

Woodcock has served on the Bangor City Council, in the Maine House of Representatives and in the Maine Senate, where he was majority floor leader during his third term.

Woodcock is running unopposed in the June primary, but will face Margaret Shalhoob, D-Bangor, in the general election.
