HOULTON – Sarah Beasley smacked a grand slam and two singles and drove in five runs to lead the Houlton Shiretowners to a 15-1 high school softball victory over the Stearns Minutemen Wednesday.
Anna Lenentine doubled, singled twice and knocked in four runs while Emily Cole rapped two singles and drove in two for Houlton.
Kristina MacKenzie singled twice for Stearns of Millinocket.

At Fort Kent, Ashley Desjardins hit a double, single, and three RBIs to lead Fort Kent.
Ashley Pelletier added a double and a single with one RBI for Fort Kent. Nicole Saucier had a single with two RBIs and Melissa Michaud had a single and RBI.
Danielle Gagnon singled twice and drove in two runs for Van Buren.

GHCA splits with Panthers
At Mars Hill, the Greater Houlton Christian Academy Eagles were outhit 31-13, but still managed a split of a doubleheader against host Central Aroostook.
The Eagles took advantage of 15 Panther errors in game one to notch a 9-5 win before CAHS came back for a 22-18 win in game two.
In the first game, Sarah Wallace notched the win with an 11-hit outing while Lacey Farrar had a single and two RBIs. Danielle Kelley had three RBIs without having any hits.
Gabrielle Smith doubled twice for three RBIs while Angel Rideout and Brittany Lundeen each singled twice for the Panthers.
In the second game, Rideout scattered eight hits on the mound and had two triples, a double, a single and four RBIs at the plate for the Panthers. Smith had a grand slam, three singles, and seven RBIs. Destin Larrabee and Stevie Fletcher each had three singles.
Sarah Jago singled three times and Amanda Jago had two singles for the Eagles.

At Limestone, Sarah Dufour drove in two runs with a double and a single to lead the Owls past Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
Rosa Londono added three singles for Madawaska.
Melissa St. Pierre and Nikki Michaud each contributed a single, a double and an RBI for the Eagles. Ashley Brooker added two singles and two RBIs while Vicki Mulherin had two singles.

At Calais, Katie Frost rapped two singles and earned the pitching win by firing a five-hitter as the Blue Devils edged rival Woodland.
Frost struck out nine and walked one in the win while Amanda Brown belted two doubles.

At Harrington, Ashley Woodward fired her fourth no-hitter of the season, striking out 15 and walking just two against the Tigers of East Sullivan.
Brook Courchaine paced Narraguagus with a triple, two singles and two RBIs. Jen Strout had a double and a single with one RBI and Elise Dublin singled twice and drove in two runs.

At East Machias, Jody Pinkham rocked three triples and pushed across three runs as the Jonesport-Beals prevailed.

Jen Savard sparked the Raiders with an RBI double and Emily Mawhinney had an RBI single.

At Danforth, the Tigerettes put on an offensive clinic, plating 47 runs in two games to earn their first two wins of the year. Shead took the opener 23-8, and the nightcap 24-13.
In the first game, Samantha Davis rocked three homers (two two-run shots and a solo blast), knocking in nine runs. Brittany Lingley had a single, double, triple and knocked in a pair. Skylar Richardson had three singles and two RBIs.
Tabbatha Osnoe sparked the Vikings of Danforth with a single, double, triple and two RBIs.
In the second game, Shead continued the hot hitting, with Nikki Ellington collecting three singles and four RBIs. She also scored five runs.
Davis had four singles and three RBIs for the Tigerettes. Lingley roped a triple and four singles, and Richardson recorded two singles and knocked in two runs.
Chantelle Parker had two singles, a double and knocked in a pair for East Grand.

At Mars Hill, the Owls pushed across eight runs in the top of the fifth to help knock off the Panthers.
Alex Daigle roped a three-run triple and two singles for Madawaska. Gil Cyr added a two-run double.
Kyle Larabee jolted a two-run homer and a double for Central Aroostook. Dan Codrey singled three times.

At East Machias, the Raiders’ five home runs were the crushing blows in the victory over the rival Royals.
Nick Reynolds crushed a pair of two-run homers for the winners. Barrett Craven and Jared Gray each belted a two-run shot, and Ricky Fagonde roped a solo homer.
Daren Kelly sparked Jonesport-Beals with a two-run double. Billy Merchant had two singles.

Ellis’ homer was key as the Blue Devils rallied for four runs in the bottom of the innings.
Rich Roussel also cracked a two-run homer for the Dragons. Matt Hill roped a two-run double.
Justin Donovan led Calais with three singles. Zack Gillespie had a single and a double, and Joe Footer added two singles.

At Guilford, Kyle Jennings jolted a three-run home run and added an RBI single to pace the Pirates.
Ben Smith added two doubles, a single and four RBIs while Buddy Bates stroked two doubles and drove in one. Josh Luellen singled in two runs and Darin Spack had an RBI single. Keith Dawson struck out eight and walked one in his five-inning stint.
Jordan Allen singled twice, doubled twice and knocked in a run for Penquis of Milo. Terry Joyce added a solo homer while Mike Grindle had an RBI triple.
