LEWISTON – The 7th annual Androscoggin Business to Business Trade Show will take place on Thursday, June 13, at Bates College.
The 7:30 a.m. breakfast keynote address will be presented by William J. Ryan, former chairman, president and CEO of Banknorth Group Inc., headquartered in Portland.
A 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. seminar titled, “Sitting up: how to serve responsibly on a board or committee”, will discuss ways to be a more effective and responsible board member. Steve Pecukonis, an independent consultant with HRD Associates of Topsham and the facilitator of the Androscoggin Leadership Development Institute will lead the seminar.
From 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., “Planning for the Worst” will be led by Peter VanGagnon, director of the Androscoggin Emergency Management Agency for more than 35 years. The seminar will address steps to prevent a crisis or tragedy. Some suggested topics are, preparing your organization for a bomb threat and dealing with a disgruntled former employee who refuses to leave the premises.
“Knowing Where to Turn for Business Resources” will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Various representatives from Coastal Enterprises Inc., the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments and the Department of Economic and Community Development will discuss where to go for help in starting or growing a business.
The trade show will close with “Business After Hours” from 4:30 to 6 p.m. catered by Margaritas Restaurant & Watering Hole.
Cost for the breakfast is $11 and registration is required. Seminar registration also is recommended.
