Garcia leads Madawaska by Limestone CAHS, Washburn, Ashland, Fort Fairfield post victories

LIMESTONE – Marc Garcia cranked a grand slam to help the Madawaska Owls beat the Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics 12-3 in schoolboy baseball action Wednesday.

Kevin Dube led off the game with a home run. He also doubled and had three RBIs. Peter Gerard had a pair of doubles and Alex Daigle tripled, singled and drove in a run for Madawaska.

Derek Patten singled twice for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

At Fort Kent, Dan Buckley held Fort Kent to two hits and struck out 13 batters for the Beavers.

Seth Milton had three singles with three RBIs. Buckley hit a single and Isaac Carney hit a single with one RBI for Washburn.

Jon Pinette and Jared Boucher each had a single for Fort Kent.

At Hodgdon, Phil Rochford rapped a double, single and knocked in a pair of runs as the Tigers upended the Hawks.

Rochford also got the win on the mound for Fort Fairfield.

Ryan and Chris Blanchette had two singles each for Hodgdon.

At Ashland, Bruce Oakes hit four singles, stole five bases, and struck out eight in a complete-game six-hitter as Ashland won its regular-season finale.

Eric Ham hit a double and two singles with three RBIs for the Hornets while Jared Jandreau hit a pair of singles with two RBIs and Matt Carney had two singles with one RBI.

Todd Thibeault hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning for Wisdom of St. Agatha while Andrew Gervais added a single and a double.

At Dyer Brook on Tuesday, Jeff Clockedile rapped three singles, including a two-run base hit in the sixth that provided the final margin of victory for Central Aroostook.

Jason Woodworth added two singles for the Panthers of Mars Hill. Bryan Grew struck out eight and walked one in his complete-game effort.

Matt McCluskey stroked two singles and drove in a run for the Warriors. Jared Grant added a double.
