HOULTON – The Aroostook Fund of the Maine Community Foundation has announced $600 award to the Battered Women’s Project to implement its Bullyproof program. This grant includes funds from both the Aroostook Fund and other foundation funds.

Bullyproof is an innovative project used with fourth- and fifth-grade pupils to expose and end bullying in schools. The program will teach children to identify and stand up to bullying.

With the funding awarded by the Aroostook Fund, Bullyproof will supply educational materials to area schools addressing the issues of violence and bullying.

BWP offers educational programs to Aroostook County schools, which focus on teasing, bullying, healthy relationships, and dating violence.
