BANGOR – The Bangor YMCA received a contribution from the Sam’s Club Foundation for $1,400. Bridget Lindsay, a representative from Sam’s Club, presented the check to Lance Cote, recreational sports director, and Rob Reeves, executive director of the Bangor YMCA in the YMCA’s recreation room May 1.

The contribution from Sam’s Club will support several different areas at the Bangor YMCA: $500 for the Annual Giving Campaign to support programs and scholarships; $500 to sponsor one youth sport each session; $400 given through the Sam’s Club Volunteerism Always Pays program as a match to the volunteer hours donated to the Bangor YMCA by Sam’s Club employees over the past few months.

Tammy Collins, Bangor Sam’s Club cashier, volunteered at the concession stand during the Bangor YMCA’s youth basketball tournament. Mindy Whittington, marketing supervisor, raised funds as part of the Bangor YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign phone-athon. She also facilitated the contribution with the national office.
