Searsport tips Patriots in 9th Dakin delivers winning single

BANGOR – Nick Dakin hit a bases-loaded single in the ninth inning to give the Searsport Vikings an 8-6 schoolboy baseball victory over the Bangor Christian Patriots Thursday.

Dakin had two singles and three RBIs overall.

Drew Mercier hit a double and three singles with two RBIs. Pasco Grove had a single and a double with two RBIs for Searsport.

Allen Easley hit a double and two singles with three RBIs. Matt Turgeon had two singles with two RBI. Ben Sobey hit a double and a single with one RBI. Chase Ossinger hit two singles with one RBI for Bangor Christian.

At Old Town, Ryan Brown cracked a three-run home run while Andy Pease added two singles and a homer to help lead the Indians to the win.

Roger Cole contributed with a double and a single while Chris Rand and Shaun Tidwell had two singles apiece.

Josh Vile hit a single and a double for Nokomis.

At Hampden, Andy Wentworth scattered four hits and struck out five to earn the shutout and the win for Bucksport.

Abram Allard hit a double and a single for the Golden Bucks while Ryan Sullivan, Adam Sheehan and Jason Harvey each added two singles.

Kyle Dalton was the top hitter for Hampden with two singles.

At Mount Desert, Dave Dressel rapped two singles and knocked in two runs to help the Eagles top Mount Desert Island.

Garrett Hardison added two singles for Ellsworth while Asa Jones singled and had an RBI.

Brandon Colbeth drilled two doubles and drove in two for the Trojans. Brad Dalton doubled and had two RBIs while Chris Diaz singled in a run.

At Dexter, Jason Weymouth allowed only two hits in six innings while striking out seven to spark the Ponies.

Shawn Grass cranked a grand slam in the sixth inning to pace the winners. Josh Withee chipped in with two doubles, a single and three RBIs and Chris Chambers added two singles and two RBIs. Caleb Pelletier also had two singles and drove in a run.

Eric Cooley and Ross Morrison each singled for Dexter.

At Dyer Brook, Lynn Farrington pitched a no-hitter, striking out 14 batters and walking only two to shut down the Warriors and lead Schenck of East Millinocket.

Jessica Day nailed a two-run home run and had two singles for the Wolverines while Lindsey Swazey added two singles and a double.

At Jackman, Asheley Krukowski led Forest Hills with two doubles and a single.

Jenn Leach had two doubles for the Tigers while Kim Levesque added a triple and a single.

Michaella Bartley hit a double and two singles for Greenville while Diane Aucoin contributed three doubles and Jill Bouley had three singles.

At Old Town, Sarah Metivier fired a one-hitter and struck out 10 as the Indians prevailed.

Jessica Paul paced Old Town’s 14-hit attack with four singles. Sara Jones had three singles and an RBI, Liz Saucier singled twice and drove in a run and Renee Thibodeau chipped in with two singles.

Aimee Paradis had a double and drove in a run for Nokomis of Newport.

At Howland, Jill Murchison and Corinna Taylor hit two singles apiece to help lead Mattanawcook Academy to the win.

Brooke Leighton contributed with an RBI double for the Lynx.

Toni Babineau had three singles for Penobscot Valley while Meaghan Cyr added two doubles and a single and Krystal Levesque helped out with a single and a double.

At Hampden, Bucksport took advantage of 11 errors to score nine unearned runs and take the game from the Broncos.

Jana Richards and Jill Richards hit two singles apiece for the Golden Bucks while Leah Page chipped in with a double.

Cheryl Morris hit two singles for Hampden while Sara Lozito added a single.

At Bangor, Laura Carroll hit a two-RBI single to right field in the seventh inning to give Searsport the win.

TaraLee Webster struck out 11 and walked two. Nicole Shute hit two singles and drove in a run. Webster had a double and a single for Searsport.

Danielle Miller hit three singles with two RBIs for BC. Sarah Elliott hit a double and a single with two RBIs and Kara Hartman had two singles.

At Mount Desert, Holly Tripp hit a triple and drove in a run and Jodie Merchant doubled in another for the Eagles.

At Hodgdon Wednesday, Ashlee Bubar pitched a three-hitter and hit three singles to lead the Fort Fairfield Tigers past Hodgdon.

Brooke McCrum hit a fifth-inning home run, doubled, and drove in four runs for the Tigers. Sabrina Butler had three singles and a double while Brittany Guiou had three singles.

Heather Martin paced Hodgdon with a triple.

At Caribou, Lauren Wildeman led Presque Isle with two singles for four RBIs.

Melissa Pelletier added two RBI doubles for the Wildcats while Sarah Belden and Chriki Jones also had two singles apiece.

Melissa Brissette had four RBIs and a triple for Caribou while Jessica Cyr helped out with two singles for two RBIs.

At Mars Hill, Jocelyn Carvell drove in three runners on a double and a single to help lead Central Aroostook to the win.

Gabrielle Smith had five RBIs and double for the Panthers while Angel Rideout added two RBIs and Ashley Clockedile hit two singles.

Kristin Ireland and Casey Maynard each had two singles and an RBI for Washburn while Kristen Carter contributed two singles.

Hodgdon 23, Limestone 6

At Limestone, back-to-back home runs in the third inning by Amanda Fitzpatrick and Alicia Dwyer highlighted Hodgdon’s ninth win of the season.

Fitzpatrick also hit a double with three RBIs. Dwyer had a single, double, home run with four RBIs. Erin Foster hit two doubles and a two-run homer in the fifth to end with six RBIs. Sara Quint hit two singles and Shanna McGary hit a double and a single for Hodgdon.
