Integrity in politics is, or at least should be, of considerable importance to the voters. Since the Bill and Hillary circus left town, I think most would agree there has been some general improvement and some, including myself, see an enormous improvement in the integrity around the White House.
Back in Maine though, I can’t get over the absolute lack of it in the Pingree campaign. Your story about Chellie Pingree being the first and only person in Maine to take advantage of a campaign finance law loophole that she claims to support closing is the most dishonorable act I’ve seen out of a politician since the Clintons left the stage.
Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins have shown us how to be winners and have done it with the integrity that used to be the standard rather than the exception, and we should be proud of them. I don’t always agree with the way they vote, but they will always get my vote.
