Blodgett not one of best

I generally enjoy and agree with John Holyoke. This past Saturday (BDN, May 25) was a tremendous letdown.

To say that Cindy Blodgett is one of the best players in the world was at best a gross overassessment. She clearly wasn’t even one of the best players in the WNBA.

From the time she was drafted to the day she got cut for what appears to be the final time, she was in way over her head and simply could not compete at that level. The numbers bear that out.

Cindy was a good college player but even at that level, never led her team to a win in the [NCAA] tournament. Maine went on to accomplish that feat without her.

Simply put, Cindy Blodgett was a great high school player, a real good college player, but beyond that, very, very ordinary. One of the best in the world? Not even close.
