ALEXANDER – The Quoddy Regional Land Trust will hold a stewardship training workshop from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 22, with indoor training at the Alexander School and fieldwork to be held at the home of John and Marie Dudley on the Pokey Road in Alexander.

Prospective administrators will be introduced to the practices of land stewardship and monitoring, will meet donors of conservation easements, and will train in the use of essential tools – everything from compasses and global positioning satellites to cameras, tapes and the powers of observation. Volunteer supervisors monitor Quoddy Regional Land Trust easements and properties yearly.

After the fieldwork, the group will have a potluck supper and barbecue, with time for a question-and-answer session. The workshop is free. To register, or for information, contact the Quoddy Regional Land Trust office at 733-5509, or e-mail grlt@downeastme.com.
