Big School (Classes A-B)

Josh Withee

The sophomore pitcher for Foxcroft Academy’s baseball team earned a win and a save while striking out 10 hitters to improve to 5-0 this season. He also had six hits in 11 at-bats with three doubles, four runs, and four RBIs .

Small School (Classes C-D)

Caleb Paul

The distance specialist for Narraguagus of Harrington won all his events in a grueling triple at the Eastern Maine Class C track and field championships in Dover-Foxcroft. The Addison resident took home first-place ribbons in the 800-, 1,600-, and 3,200-meter runs.

Girls

Big School (Classes A-B)

Sarah Metivier

Metivier, a senior pitcher, threw a one-hitter against Nokomis May 25, her second in three starts, and struck out 27 over those three games to help the Indian softball team to a 2-1 record.

Small School (Classes C-D)

Maria Millard

The Orono High senior won the 300-meter hurdles, the high jump, and anchored the Red Riots’ winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams at the Eastern Maine Class C track and field championships, qualifying in all four events for the Class C state meet.
