Jonesport-Beals High School

JONESPORT – Honor parts have been announced for the Class of 2002. Commencement exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Jonesport-Beals High School.

Kadi Alley, daughter of Wanda and Ronnie Alley of Jonesport, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2002. She plans to attend the University of Maine to study psychology.

Alley has received the Maine Principal’s Award, the Society of Women Engineers Award, Maine Scholar’s Achievement Award and the Mount Holyoke Book Award and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is active in church youth functions, the yearbook and class activities.

Erin Church, daughter of Shelly and Michael Church of Jonesport, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2002. She plans to attend Graceland University in Iowa.

She has earned letters in three varsity sports, participated in class activities, and worked on the yearbook. She is active in the community and serves as Sunday school director and youth leader. Church is also a member of the National Honor Society and has received the Seven Sisters Downeast Book Award, the University of Rochester Humanities Award, Maine Scholar’s Achievement Award and several academic awards.
