ORONO – Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Bernie Carbo will speak at the University of Maine Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m. Carbo, whose pinch-hit, three-run homer tied the game in the eighth inning of game 6 in the 1975 World Series and set the stage for Carlton Fisk’s historic homer, will talk about his triumph over alcohol, drug addiction and depression at the University’s Wilson Center, at 67 College Avenue.
Tickets are available at the Wilson Center for a $10 donation per person, and $20 for a family. Proceeds will benefit renovations at the Center. For more info, contact Rev. Joanne Whitehead, the Wilson Center chaplain at 866-4227 or email at Whitehead@umit.maine.edu
