The MSAD 27 Service Learning Committee has declared the week of June 3-7 Kindness Week. The goal is to encourage people to use kindness in their daily lives.
The movement began with the publication of the book, “Random Acts of Kindness,” a collection of individuals’ stories about giving and receiving kindness from strangers. Since the publication of the book and recognition of the concept’s importance from the U.S. Congress, the movement has spread rapidly with participation doubling every year.
By encouraging our students, teachers and members of the community to perform simple day-to-day acts of kindness, the committee hopes to reach as many people as possible. The message is simple and infectious: “A simple display of kindness can bring a smile to someone’s face, warm a lonely heart, or even change the course of someone’s life.”
We ask that you start to practice this by providing acts of kindness throughout the week and we hope this becomes a habit in everyone’s daily life.
