University of Maine volleyball coach Sue Medley announced Tuesday that Houlton High School multisport standout Sarah Beasley plans to play volleyball for the Black Bears. Beasley, at 5-foot-10, can be used as an outside hitter, a middle blocker or a setter.

She played four years at Houlton, where she also was a standout baseball, soccer and softball player.

“She is an outstanding athlete with a tremendously large upside in volleyball,” Medley said. “Sarah is a proven leader and a team player with great enthusiasm and a tremendous work ethic.”
