Fort Kent – Shaun Tomblin, a former basketball standout at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, has been appointed to the campus board of visitors.

Tomblin, 23, of Rego Park, N.Y., is a collateral analyst with Congress Financial Corp. in New York City. He will attend his first board meeting on Aug. 30.

The new board member has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UMFK, graduating summa cum laude.

The former forward is the Bengals’ all-time leading scorer with 1.789 points as well as a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Honorable Mention All American.

The board of visitors helps to create a more efficient and effective administration for the University of Maine System.
