PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle Police Department has received a $100,000 grant from the Bureau of Highway Safety to pay overtime to officers devoted to the detection and apprehension of drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The grant period began May 1 and will continue through Sept. 30.

The department will conduct two roadblocks throughout the summer, as well as 13 roving police details, where officers will primarily be looking for intoxicated drivers.
