GLENBURN – Jolene Belanger of Glenburn was presented with the Girl Scout Silver Award on May 3 at the Glenburn Town Hall.
The award, the highest a Cadette Girl Scout can earn, recognizes excellence in personal growth, community service and skill development. To qualify for the award, the scout must implement a community-service project that makes use of the skills and leadership a girl has developed through her Girl Scout experiences.
Belanger worked with children on crafts that related to stories they were reading at the Glenburn Library.
She is a seventh-grader at Glenburn Middle School and is a member of Troop 153.
