ORONO – The University of Maine men’s basketball completed its recruiting class for next year with the commitment of Eric Dobson of Immokalee, Fla.

Dobson, a 6-foot-3, 188-pound guard, played for St. Petersburg Junior College last year, earning first-team all-region honors while leading the Titans to a 27-7 record.

Dobson averaged 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals per game for the Titans.

“Eric is a big, strong and athletic point guard,” UMaine coach John Giannini said. “He is an outstanding defender and has the ability to create shots off the dribble.”

Dobson joins Thomas Hill of Milwaukee, Kevin Reed of Cape Cod, Mass., and Ludmil Hadjisotirov of Sofia, Bulgaria, in Giannini’s recruiting class.
