BANGOR – Seven students from Eastern Maine Technical College will demonstrate their talents in a national skills competition sponsored by Skills USA-Vocational Industrial Clubs of America June 24-28 in Kansas City, Mo.

The Skills USA championships is a showcase for the best career and technical students in the nation. More than 4,000 students will compete in 73 different categories, including robotics, nursing and television production. They will work against the clock and one another, proving their expertise their chosen fields.

Students representing EMTC are Raymond Chase, diesel equipment technology; Angel Grindle, auto service technology; Barbara Haskell, commercial baking; David Hirst, extemporaneous speaking; Jason Ingalls, computer maintenance technology; Todd Morneault, culinary arts; and Greg Rollins, carpentry. They were gold medal winners in the state championships in March.
