CASTINE – The Castine Historical Society will present a lecture by professor George E. Buker at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Abbott School.
A retired commander in the U.S. Navy and professor emeritus in history at Jacksonville University in Florida, Buker is the author of “The Penobscot Expedition: Commodore Saltonstall and the Massachusetts Conspiracy of 1779” and is the first professional military officer to deal comprehensively with the material relevant to this little-known event during the American Revolution.
The lecture will be followed by a book signing and admission will be free.
