ORONO – Ryan Brown held the Bangor Comrades to just three hits, striking out 10 and walking three, to lead the Orono Twins to a 6-2 American Legion baseball victory Thursday.

Shaun Tidwell led Orono with two singles, a double and two RBIs. Brown added two singles while Ryan Levesque and Mike Merritt rapped an RBI single each. Merritt also scored twice.

Nate Hall stroked a two-run single in the seventh for Bangor.

At Lincoln, Ryan Hutchins slammed a two-run homer as the Acadians won each team’s mutual opener.

Branden Colbeth laced a two-run single for Trenton and Marc Clapp contributed a pair of singles.

Blair Emery and Scott Flannery each had an RBI single during a four-run fifth for the Lumber. Matt Malone roped a single and a double.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Chris Carmen and Marcus Colby each singled twice and drove in two runs as Waldo prevailed.

John Bonney and Spencer Gordon also had a pair of singles for the winners.

Seth Gabbaro roped a three-run double for Penquis. Bryan White singled twice and knocked in a run.

At Newport, Joel Barrett lashed a triple, a double, three singles and drove in four runs to pace the Falcons.

Jason Harvey added two singles and an RBI while Pat Moran doubled and singled. Chris McHale tripled and drove in four runs and Brian Sullivan tripled. Starting pitcher Chad Gomm tossed five innings of two-hit ball with seven strikeouts.

Phil Hendricks rapped a double and a single and drove in a run for the Storm while Ryan McLellan singled.
