ENFIELD – A Bradley man was killed Friday night in a rollover accident.
Brian Buck, 34, was dead at the scene from injuries he suffered after his Jeep rolled over while traveling along Route 2 near the Old County Road South intersection in West Enfield village, according to Trooper Phillip Dawson.
Buck was ejected from his vehicle as it rolled over just before 9:30 p.m., Dawson said.
Although the accident remained under investigation during the weekend, police said it did not appear that Buck was wearing a seat belt. Buck was traveling alone.
Buck’s 1979 Jeep CJ-7 drifted to the shoulder of the road, then traveled back toward the center line and across the oncoming lane. After the vehicle left the road on the opposite side, it struck a culvert and rolled, coming to a rest on its roof.
Dawson said it was not clear what caused the vehicle to leave the road. But he said speed was not a factor.
Trooper Barry Meserve and Sgt. Brian Theriault, also of the state police, Deputy Peter Stone of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department, and members of the Howland Fire Department assisted Dawson at the scene.
