UNITY – Directors of SAD 3 have named Mike Buckley acting superintendent.

Interim Superintendent Leon Duff, who has been at the helm of the district since early this year, had indicated to the board his intention to leave at the end of June. Buckley, who is SAD 3’s assistant superintendent, will serve as superintendent until a new superintendent is named, Duff said Monday.

The board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Lawrence Coughlin late last month. Coughlin was on medical leave through much of the year.

Duff said the board has not yet formed a search committee to begin finding a permanent superintendent.
