MACHIAS – Downriver Theatre Co. is promising to deliver “an evening more filled with laughter than you can remember” during performances of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
The musical comedy opens at the Performing Arts Center at the University of Maine at Machias at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27.
Additional performances will take place on Friday and Saturday, as well as July, 3, 5 and 6.
The play is set in Rome in 200 B.C. and centers on Pseudolus, a family slave, trying to win his freedom by making a match for his master, Hero, with the courtesan, Philia. Skip Cole is the director.
