BANGOR – Josh Young struck out 12, all in the last five innings, to lead the Bangor Comrades to a 4-3 American Legion baseball victory over Waldo-Knox at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.
Young struck out the side with the bases loaded in the sixth and recorded two strikeouts and a flyout with two runners on in the seventh. He allowed only three hits and one earned run while walking three.
Andy Sullivan’s two-run triple in the fifth gave Bangor the winning edge. Zev Myerowitz and Kevin Proctor scored on the triple. Proctor had singled in a run earlier in the inning. Andy Tremble chipped in with two singles for Bangor.
Parker Tootill was the hard-luck losing pitcher as he scattered five hits while striking out seven and walking three. John Bonney, Ben Cowan, and Tootill each singled for Waldo-Knox.

At Pittsfield, Ben Maloney doubled and singled as the Suns prevailed.
Scott MacDonald roped two singles and pushed across two runs for the winners. Chris Dyer had a pair of singles.
Seth Bradstreet knocked a two-run single for the Red Storm. Steve Kennedy rocked a double, and Phil Hendricks added a single and a double.

At Bangor, Greg Ingalls rocked a two-run homer along with a double as Schoodic held off Bangor.
J.J. Phinney rapped a pair of singles for the winners.
Jim Alexander slammed a three-run homer for Bangor. He also singled. Jerry Mick doubled, singled twice, and knocked in a run.
